“I mentioned that I had been in Qatar, and there I was treated great. The officers were really friendly to us, and the enlisted, they were friendly. But not like the Kuwaitis, a little bit more withdrawn, a little bit more reserved. But I think that’s because they didn’t necessarily have, nor should they, a debt of gratitude for us. But they had a genuine respect for our military, and I think they respected us as individuals, too.”
