Bengali Phrases in Bangladesh

“Dhonobaad” is “thank you.” “Good morning,” you’re really just going to say “asalaam aleykum.” Around the New Year's timeframe, everybody it's kind of like their biggest holiday and that was “noboborsho,” probably not saying that quite right, but if you say that to anybody around that timeframe, they’re like “Oh yeah, sh-,” they just get excited. That’s Bengali. You can just see them getting excited because you know a little bit about this holiday that otherwise you would know nothing about. They take it really seriously and kind of everybody dresses a certain way for that time. And everybody greets each other with “noboborsho.”
