“Ghana had its independence about 17 years, oh no, no, about… Had its independence in 1957, yeah, and then Nigeria was three years or so after. So because… They developed faster, at least politically, than Nigeria. Generally speaking they are more organized. The level of Pidgin English they speak in Ghana is lower than in Nigeria. So many more Ghanaians speak pure English than they would speak Pidgin English. So communication, it’s easier for an English-speaking person who goes to Ghana than it is for an English-speaking person who goes to Nigeria.”
