Living with a Host Family

Video Transcript

Especially if you're staying with a host family, it's not for them not wanting to give you your space; they're really excited that you're there and they want to engage with you. So yes, personal space...there is a different concept. Not everyone may have a door that they can close or a door that stays closed when you do close it. And that's typically a conversation that you can have with a host family, is you can let them know if you have boundaries what you would like those boundaries to be. But also keep in mind that it's a cultural difference and I advise just to welcome it.
