"I remember one night, I didn't want to go with the crowd, or I was by myself maybe on this trip, so I stepped out of the hotel and I went down one of the side streets to just get something [to] take out and take it back to my room. And for six American dollars—six dollars!—they pack up all the little sides for you too, and a bowl of hot rice with meat and vegetables and spices. It's what you get at a restaurant. I think it would probably be twenty-seven bucks here. I couldn't believe it!

"But every other store was a coffee shop, every other store was a Korean mom and pop store. And so I finally stopped at the fifth one. I'm looking through the window, and this lady—it's very competitive—so I'm looking at the window, and she's got pictures of her items and everything. And she goes, 'You like, you like!' She comes and she pulls me into the restaurant [laughing], she says, 'You like, you like! Cheap, cheap! Come, come!' So that's where I bought my dinner. [laughing] She made the decision for me."
