Water and Other Utilities in Saudi Arabia

Video Transcript

“I suppose in a really, really small town, potable water might be, have to be trucked in. That's not uncommon at all, but it's available. In a lot of the Middle East, utilities have to be trucked in. Electricity is easier to get because you can, you put your electric lines above ground.  But having things like either natural gas or water or sewer is very difficult because [of] the distance from a metropolitan area, or very rocky conditions, or whatever. So people will have water tanks and they’ll just have water trucked in and filled up. And they’ll have, I suspect, for sanitary conditions, they’ll have a septic system and leach field. But by and large, living conditions there in Saudi aren’t that bad, even in the rural areas.”

In this video, a Saudi Arabia expert discusses the availability of water and other utilities in Saudi Arabia.
