Culture Matters: Fire Hose

This video highlights how a person cannot learn everything about a culture all at once. It takes time. This is a part of the Culture Matters video series.
Video Transcript

I've heard people tell me that learning from another culture is like drinking from a fire hose. That's because understanding another culture means understanding many things about that culture: geography, climate, history, religion, politics, gender roles, economics, language, beliefs, behaviors, and norms. And it's more than anyone can take in at once. Don't drink from a fire hose. Don't try to take it in all at once. Learning about culture is a lifelong process. Culture matters.
