"I think the spirit of the Egyptian people was something that I think kind of brought a smile to my face. I think that they have sort of a distinct personality that’s different than say Syrians or Lebanese. I think that they are sort of a ‘roll with the punches’ kind of people and country, and there are so many Egyptians that you’ll encounter who encounter so many hardships on a daily basis. Maybe they’re barely just scraping by. They can barely afford to put their kids through school, but at the same time, they’ll have a glass of tea with you, and laugh, and offer you whatever they have to eat, and worry about you, and try to make sure you’re okay. So I think just the kindness and hospitality of Egyptians was lovely to experience as a Westerner."

In this video, a linguist discusses the Egyptian people.
