Agriculture in Guyana

Video Transcript

Our country is an agri-economy. We're not a tourist economy. So we do have a lot of natural resources. We're steeped in agriculture, so rice, sugar, and so on and so forth. So we try to create a market within the Caribbean. But it's not sufficient, so we have to depend on the Europeans to sell our products. We do have a lot of agricultural land, so to speak. We have a lot of forestry land, we have a lot of woods, a lot of timber. A lot of minerals. And that makes up the economy of our country.

In this video, a native Guyanese elaborates on the different types of agriculture.
