"A lot of tour companies have opened up. It has become quite a big tourist destination. Not that long ago they had a civil war and not that long ago there was a completely different political party in power. So if you are going there having that wherewithal to realize that anybody you're talking to over the age of 30 lived in a very different Sri Lanka. Especially if they were of a certain group. There are still Tamil societies there for sure mostly in the Northeastern parts. If you're going there and traveling around, knowing where you're going and who you're dealing with. Those sensitivities are a big thing."
