"Afghanistan is a smaller version of the whole United States. The United States has states that are dry, like Colorado and Arizona, states that are humid, and states that have desert terrain, like parts of California, Wyoming, and Nebraska. Similarly, the north of Afghanistan is mountainous, pretty much like Colorado. And then central Afghanistan is almost similar to Arizona and Wyoming. The south of Afghanistan is pretty much the deserts of the western states, but the climate is a little humid - somehow, like you’re in Virginia."

An Afghan national describes the climate of Afghanistan.
