Dressing Conservatively in the Arabian Peninsula

Video Transcript

“Go and dress conservatively. Shorts and flip-flops is not appropriate anywhere than probably your hotel room, or the pool. Certainly not out in public. If everywhere you go, people are covered from head to toe as they go about their daily business, probably means you should be, too. So what you dress up your people as, it kind of depends on what story you’re trying to tell. But for any of the U.S. people, the basic advice is start very low-key and conservative and well-mannered and well-dressed; and slowly go from there.”

In this video, a retired Army lieutenant colonel discusses appropriate dress for foreigners in the Arabian Peninsula.
