There is racism in Ukraine. I mean, it's the same in Russia. Odesa is a pretty multicultural city. It's a port, so they're used to it more, but it's very common for the police—or at least it was common—for the police to stop a person of color on the street to check their papers just because it's kind of what they are...they have this image of what a terrorist looks like, and it's not a white Ukrainian, so that could be a problem.
