Offending someone socially, I think, carries a lot of weight. You can still get your work done, but there'll always be that image that this person is of no class or they're rude or they're not well educated or not raised well." And this as a kid, I was always making sure that I entered and left a relative's house in good standing. And by that I mean stuff like saying 'excuse me.' Things that it seems like here [in the U.S.] we don't put much weight on and emphasis on. And providing support and stuff, remembering your Ps and Qs. Please, thank you, you're welcome. Those little things carry a lot of weight in that culture. And it'll go far and you'll be welcomed as family afterwards if you remember to not be rude and leave with a bad stigma.
