“The welcome water is local culture and local tradition. You always welcome your guest with the welcome water. If you know that the guest is coming to sit for quite some time, at first you come out, of course you, when I say you it means the wife comes out with a gourd of plain water [and gives] it to the husband, the husband takes a sip, [pours some] on the floor, [passes] it over to the guest, you pour some on the ground, take a sip and give it back to the husband, and the husband gives it to the wife.”
