Foreign Relations of Guyana

Video Transcript

We have an ongoing feud with Venezuela, who wanted to take two-thirds of the country. That is to the west. They're claiming two-thirds. I thought it was settled in the UN fifteen, twenty years ago. But recently there was a flare-up where the Venezuelan[s] captured an oil exploration boat. We have that ongoing feud with them. We had a little thing also with Suriname. Brazil is neutral. They're trying to keep the peace. Brazil doesn't have a border issue with us, but Suriname and Venezuela did.

In this video, a native Guyanese discusses the country's foreign relations.
