One of the first things that one would expect when traveling to India, is that in the South it's very lush and very green and a lot of wetlands and a lot of water. I know that sounds silly because most of it is surrounded by water, but for example, in Kerala, they are famous for their swamps and their wetlands and their lakes. So most of that state is wet, and then as you move North it gets a little more mountainous. When you get into Delhi and further up in the Himalayas, of course, it's very much a hillside and a sort of mountain culture.

An Indian national discusses the geography of India.
