The geography of Nepal could best be described by dividing it into three regions, three bands if you will. In the North, of course you have the Himalayan mountain range and that's kinda what Nepal is most famous for. Highest peaks. Highest peaks on planet Earth. Very very mountainous. Very rugged. Very cold. If you look at the middle band, there's kind of a midland region. The capital of Kathmandu is located there, as are several major cities and population centers. It's hilly but it's not as mountainous as the Himalayas. And then in the South you have a very flat and much rainier and more tropical plateau.
