“In Africa, generally, a greeting is always preceded by what we call small talk. And in most cases, when somebody’s… During the small talk the person can hold your hand for about some five minutes while you folks are greeting one another. So do not be surprised if somebody holds your hand for about five minutes while talking to you. I know some people will feel very uncomfortable with that, but that is just the tradition.”
