Independence and Civil War in Tajikistan

Video Transcript

Because of the Civil War in [the] early '90s, '92 if I remember correctly. It was about [a] 5 year long civil war. The population, all the groups, have kind of realized that they need to put that in the past, and look for the, for a better future. And there is a sense of that. On the streets you feel that. That people want to put the past behind them and move on, no matter what the differences have been in the past.

In this video, a U.S. Army lieutenant colonel discusses the post-civil war sentiment in Tajikistan.
