“Most of Jordanian citizens’ origins are let’s say 55% to 60% Palestinians, except the ones who are from the Bedouins which those are the real native Jordanians. Most Palestinians in Jordan, they [don’t] work in government because you cannot go high up because the government wants to check your background. You’re supposed to be 100% Jordanian to be in the intelligence or in the army. So Palestinians they direct themselves toward trade and investment and these kind of areas, or medicine [and] businesses.”
