"Five times a day there’s a call to prayer. If you’re with Iraqis, true Muslims they’re going to stop the training and pray. Plus the imam calling to prayer can be very annoying. Be aware of your cultural differences. Be aware that there are major religious differences as well and I think that’s critical for a new soldier. Even an old hand that’s coming back after three or four years, it’s still important to re-engage with those cultural differences and understanding them."
